Manic Friday

We've just had a Children's workshop for Good Friday. It was manic. We had about 45 children (I haven't counted the final number yet). Each got a little 'goodie bag' with some worksheets, pens / crayons (depending on their age) and a little toy.

They heard the story of Good Friday in various stages around the church. They carried a big wooden cross up the aisle.

Then they did bread making, paper plate face making, decorating ceramic plates with beads and jewels and ate some hot cross buns.

It all finished with one of the children being baptised.

Only one bread roll was unclaimed. It had a name - Georgina - but there wasn't a Georgina listed on my list, so I haven't a clue who she is!! Callum didn't get his roll. But I don't quite think that the one left was his because you really couldn't get 'Georgina' from 'Callum'! Only 3 goodie bags were left behind. I think that's rather a good sucess rate.

I am still up at church, having just finished clearing up and hoovering!! I'm using the church computer. Quite a novelty really cos we don't have a PC at home! It's rather nice to be using a 'real' keyboard.

Alien is with the in-laws, and will be collected after I've picked up a pushchair I'm buying from Ebay!

Can I bore you with any more waffle?

Yes.

Choir tonight. In fact, it was choir last night too. We sang Hassler Mass setting and Couperin Tenebre thing for the Maundy Thursday service. It went surprisingly well considering two of us took it in turns to sight read some of the solos as two people were ill!

Anyway, choir rehearsal tonight, to prepare for Sundays music which is the Mozart 'sparrow' mass and Mozarts Laudate Dominum. Lovely choice of music I think. And I've always wanted to do the Mozart Laudate Dominum.

Right. I guess I really ought to go pick up my beautiful child. And this open tub of butter next to me is making me feel rather ill (too many hot cross buns I think!).

Happy Good Friday. No. That doesn't work does it. Um. Happy nearly 3 o'clock. Mind you, I guess that doesn't really work either cos it's doubtful you'll read this at nearly 3 o'clock when I post it, or you might even be in another country, in which case it won't be nearly 3 o'clock anyway. Hm. So. Um. Happy Holy Week. (Not entirely sure that works either, but it'll do cos I think I might be waffling a little now!!)
