It depends...

Alien and I were out walking down the lane today. There seemed to be lots of those kind of situations that you really cannot explain to a 22 month old. I seem to remember Birdie blogging something along these lines to do with throwing things.

We walked past the stream as usual, only it'd been raining heavily so it was really 'gushing'. Alien wanted to go in the stream. And why not? We'd been swimming this morning. That was water, this is water, what's the difference?

She picked up some pebbles to look at them and carried them for a bit. But if we were in town and she'd tried to pick anything at all up, she'd get told off. But both are picking thing up from the ground.

She had her wellies on so was running and jumping in every puddle in sight. But other times (ie when wearing anything but wellies) she's not allowed in puddles. But they're still puddles and still feet.

Near our home, down the lane she's a 'free range' child. She doesn't need to hold my hand. She can go where she likes (within reason!!). If we go into town, or anywhere else, she has to hold Mummys hand. That's not fair in her eyes.

It's a whole load of things that just don't make sense.

On a completely different note. Maybe if I do actually read the Lent book, I'll blog about it and you can all tell me what you think or whatever.
