Okay, so it was slightly half hearted, but I did the first session last night! Key points from it - for you to think about, or comment on, or completely ignore!! (Some of the answers are rather brutally honest!)

I think prayer is... a conversation between a person and God.

I think the purpose of prayer is... who knows? To make the pray-er feel in some way empowered when otherwise they might feel helpless?

The hardest thing I find about prayer is... who am I to ask of anything (the only occasional prayer I do do tend to be 'thanks' type)? And also 'whats the point'?!

The most important influence / help in my prayer life has been... probably a friend of mine who thinks prayers fantastic and works, and will happily (without being smug or whatever) point out how, why and when!

Then there was a bit about doing some actual praying.

There were other bits, and then it went on to talk about Moses and the burning bush (Exodus 3:1-12). There are three element to him and his encounter with God (evidently!): seeing, knowing and going.

Seeing - what helps you to be aware of God? Nature without a doubt.

Knowing - why has God chosen us despite knowing all about us? Fuck knows.

Going - what negative experience can you think of which can be used to positive benefit? Going nuts a few years ago helped me to readdress my 'life balance' and think about what I valued and what was important to me. It's also made me more sympathetic I think!
