Two totally unrelated comments!
I did my motorbike theory test this morning (second out of three bits that have to be done to ride a motorbike!) and passed. I panicked slightly in the test as I'd only done a very small amount of 'revision' and lots of questions came up which I'd never seen before so I had to take educated guesses. When I'd done the mock tests with the disk I bought, the first time I got 42 (the pass mark is 43 out of 50), then 43, 44 and 45. This morning I got 47 which I was well chuffed about.
On the hazard perception, out of the 14 clips, I got full marks on 8 and almost full on a further 2, so I only would've crashed a couple of times. Heehee!
I was in the entrance hall on the phone to Socks telling him that I'd passed and could see my bike outside with some paper attached to one of the handlebars. Investigating further, I discovered I'd got a parking ticket! I'd read and checked the signs about how long I could park there, but evidently managed to miss the bit that said 'pay and display'!!! Ah well! Gotta make sure I pay in 14 days so its only half price. Damn expensive this learning to ride a motorbike!
Here's a couple of the questions (worded as well as I could remember) so you can check your theory (obviously this only works for UK people!).
What does this sign mean:
a) Minimum speed 30mph
b) Maximum speed 30mph
c) Junction approaching in 30 miles
d) Exit number 30
It is illegal to sound your horn in a built up area:
a) between dusk and 7am
b) between 7pm and dawn
c) between 8pm and 8am
d) between 11.30pm and 7am
What do these line markings mean?
a) No overtaking
b) Hazard approaching
c) Lane line
d) No stopping
Alien is going into hospital to get grommets put in tomorrow. There's a very fine line between letting her know what's going on, and not worrying her! I bought some 'goodies' as a 'well done for being a good girl', but it then occured to me that by doing that we're making it more of a big thing! We want her to know an understand what's going on, but she's used to going to the hospital for hearing tests so if we'd not said a huge amount more she wouldn't worry anyway cos it's 'normal' to her. Fun fun.
We're so looking forward to her being able to hear consistantly. She's currently hating wearing the hearing aids too and keeps telling us her hearing is better already so she doesn't need them. Bless. An exciting day in store!
