Thank you to your comments from yesterday (I'll get on to Palm Sunday in a minute!). I was thinking about the blogs I read and I think the comments you made were pretty much what I think. Part of it was cos I was wondering if the 'cornflakes' type blogs were read, but as Yay said, I guess some people can make them sound interesting!!
Yesterday was Palm Sunday (like you didn't notice!). On Saturday, our vicar rang me to talk about something and in passing asked if I knew where the donkeys head was. I didn't but offered to make another. He made it very clear that that wasn't why he asked, but I said it'd be fun anyway!!
So, 6.45pm after Alien had gone to bed, I started my donkey head...
... I finished by 9.30pm, feeling very chuffed as I'd never made anything like it before and it looked rather good. The chicken wire to make the frame was from my landlord. The newspaper to make the papier mache was from my landlord. The brown paper to make the donkey donkey coloured (the brown paint didn't work!) was from my landlord. My landlord is a star!!!
Everyone was most impressed at church, and the person preaching evidently wore it (it was so good you could actually wear it on your head!!) during the end of his sermon as he was talking about being a fool for Christ.
And here it is...
We also had a palm procession which went outside and round church, and I played my sax in the quartet which played for the procession. I was well chuffed with that too. Actually, probably more well puffed as I very rarely play the sax and am not used to playing for any length of time, particularly without getting time to get my breath back inbetween songs!!
(Oh and for anyone interested, there's a few new pics of Alien on my Flickr.
