I took my class to Cheltenham to sing in The Cheltenham Festival of Performing Arts
(formerly known as the Competitive Festival). They sang two pieces - the first one in four parts and the second in two parts. Because I teach in such a small school, the choir was made up of my whole class (ages 8-11) whether they were 'singers' or not. They were totally fantastic and sung the best they'd ever sung. It was in the main hall of the town hall, and almost all of the children had never been in a building that big. I had 'warned' them about how big it was, but they couldn't believe it when they got there. The even better bit was that they all thoroughly enjoyed it and want to do it again next year.

I also prepared 5 soloists to sing in two classes and they all enjoyed it too! :)

In other news I went to my first parents evening where I was the parent tonight. Having done loads of parents evenings as the teacher it was quite strange for it to be other other way round!! (It does make me laugh though - a nearly two year old has a parents evening!!).

Alien was going to have a birthday party on Sunday (its her birthday on Monday) but since the county council have decided to dig up and close the road, it would appear that its going to be postponed for a while.
