Well today's lunch club went well. They're a boisterous, fun group who have a lot to say! So we got slightly sidetracked from Blind Bart and ended up answering questions such as 'Why and how are Jesus and God the same people but different?' (or words to that affect) 'How did God have a Son?', and 'Why is Good Friday called Good Friday when its such a sad day?' My mind boggles when trying to answer questions. It's not that I don't know it's that I need time to process but hey between me and Rich (Rich mainly) we answered their many questions. They did all join in praying like the club yesterday, again some out loud and some in their heads but with some silliness that yesterdays group didnt have. But I'm not too fussed about that. They're learning and if we do it every week they'll grow in confidence. In some ways it's a much bigger deal for 10 and 11 year olds to pray out loud than 8 and 9 year olds because it's just not cool and so much of that age is about image and fitting in so the fact that they attend a club that is about God with such enthusiasm is a massive thing in itself. There was one girl who really touched me today, she wanted to pray that she and everyone else would be happy and not sad, it's obvious that she craves attention and is desperate to be accepted and loved, I just pray that through the club she can come to know God and feel loved by him.
