I have had the most amazing week. I couldn't have asked for it to go better and feel very blessed, accepted and loved by Kole, his family and the many other people I met along the way.
Macedonia is the most welcoming culture, their hospitality is a bit overwhelming its so good and so very different to english hospitality and as a result you just seem to eat and drink. Kole's family were no exception to this and did everything to make me feel welcome and accepted, and even though there was the language barrier we still talked and laughed lots, sharing jokes and stories. I was very sad to leave them and the community that forms almost an extended family behind and they were sad to see me go. I never dreamt I could feel so part of a family in such a short period of time. During my time there I didn't do all the things I'd expected but I worked at the Miss Stone centre everyday and saw Ivana everyday, caught up with Carol and talked with Kole's minister, spent time with the family, learnt a few more words etc all fun stuff!
Kole and I had time to hang out, be silly, talk, pray, work, see each other moods, live with each other daily, both with other people and together. The first couple of days were the hardest, they were good but we had to adjust to being back together and then it just became normal. We both feel that its right to be together and so that's what we're going to aim at.
The doors seem to be closing for Kole to come to the UK, things haven't worked out with the local methodist church but we have now got the church in macedonia involved. The doors do seem to be opening for me to go to macedonia though, and I have another phone meeting bout it all tonight so we'll see what that brings about. Kole would rather he came here but Im not convinced that is in God's plan for the minute.
Mum and dad seem happier and are supportive. They're hoping and planning to come to Macedonia in April with me to meet Kole and the family. I think it helped them to see us both together on skype and for them to know how we've had to work it through etc. But I'm very grateful for their support!
And that is, as Kole would say. So Im happy and excited although still catching up on sleep and we'll see what unfolds in the next few weeks! Woop!
