I've been running sessions today for the staff at school on their inset day on prayer and worship. They were all amazingly open to the idea of integrating it more into school life. But the comment of the day was made by a guy who is not a Christian. He said ' How are we expected to give children a good experience of worship when the only real experience they receive of this at school is assemblies which are often approached negatively both by staff and by children?' He's right, how do we take assemblies to the next level so that they become relevant and aren't on birds, but on subjects that lend themselves for worship. If we have non-christians saying this thats amazing but also highlights the need for change and adaptation of what we're doing. A lot to think about before the next Christian Ehics meeting at school.....
