A little more about what is going on. I've gone to live in a convent for a set amount of time to see what it's like and see what happens. I'm involved in convent life to a small degree and have no real official title or role. As my journey progresses it should be nice to share a little (and only a little) of what is happening - mostly to aid my somewhat unreliable memory.
It takes a bit of getting used to shifting my day from working evenings to getting up to pray early in the morning. As this is optional I've been mostly opting out. ;) I have some duties to do but they vary and today is my day off, so I don't even have to go to chapel. Things are very calm and peaceful in the house and it's a very restful place to be.
Yesterday I had no duties at all although I'm supposed to be spending free time studying for my uni course. It'll get done by christmas. It's an interesting place to be when you're feeling really antisocial.
Today I got a letter in the post letting me know that the job I'd been interviewed for had gone to someone else. I really don't mind and it freed me up to look for other work without worrying about whether I'd got that one. I went to an agency and they've given me work already which is absolutely brilliant. It's such a relief and it fits brilliantly in with the community. I'll now be able to settle better (hopefully) and settle down into the routine better.
The routine is taking a bit of getting used to as I mentioned before. It will be easier, I hope, now I know what I'm doing from one day to the next. Before I got here I spent my time in something of a disorganised muddle so I'm sure this will do me lots of good.
The sisters are absolutely lovely and I'm really enjoying spending time with them.
