How to ruin a wedding reception in one easy step and other short stories...

I was going to write about two things but I can't remember what the second was...

I went to a wedding today and randomly met up with another wiblogger. It was a lovely day and the couple looked wonderful. It was quite a long lasting session as the wedding was at 12 but it was good whether so the time between that and the meal at 5 passed quite quickly.

This evening we had some entertainment from Alltracks Promotions who provided a good DJ. Later on he was replaced by a pair of singers, one male and one female. The male singer introduced himself with the immortal words "Good evening, it's lovely to be here to celebrate P and, er, whatshername's wedding. P and Maria's wedding (para)" Suffice to say, the bride wasn't called Maria. Around the room jaws dropped in disgust and the more long term effect of this was that 3/4 of the people left the room within the next 10 minutes. It really was quite disconcerting that they couldn't even get the names right. This was even before they started singing. The singing did absolutely nothing to improve the opinions held in my group of people. Unfortunately I think this thought will linger on my mind for a while. I will, of course, remember the important bits first but it did ruin the reception a little.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish P and R all the best in their new life.

I still can't remember what else I was going to talk about but never mind.

I think it may have been about a Bridget Jones moment, but I'll save that one until I'm awake.
