Rather than fill up your comments, Miss Smudgie, I thought I'd post them here for everyone to read...

Aside from that, things are still going interestingly with the house hunting. I had a lovely phone call at work today from an agency that went something like this, only politer (honest):
Agent "Hello is that (Never Conforming)?"
NC "yep, who is it?"
A "I'm phoning from an agency, thanks for your enquiry. We've got one property that meets your requirements. It's a studio..."
NC "I'm looking for somewhere with at least one bedroom, so I'm not really interested in studios."
A (sounding all offended) "Well, I'm sorry but we haven't got anything in *your* price range then. Thanks. Goodbye."
Charming! Ignoring the fact that I was hardly in the position to take the call at the time and wasn't asked if it was convenient, and the rudeness from the agent, I'd submitted by requirements on an online form. It's the umpteenth agency this year I've had this kind of debate. Maybe I should be looking for a certain number of 'reception rooms' rather than bedrooms. I still don't quite understand what part of one bedroom equals a studio! It could cause problems if I invite people back to my bedroom, or find myself sleeping in the living room and dining space all at the same time. It's funny really. Just to clarify, some open plan 'studios' are very nice, but they're not the kind that I can afford. I'm sure I'll find somewhere. It's just a case of being patient and I've seen properties advertised that fall into my price range. Something strange methinks.
I'd also like to share my appreciation of some wonderful and supportive people, especially regarding this move. Thanks. :-D
Oh, and on the quiet week front, I've still got to write my articles and will have to sort out some stuff for my current job over the weekend. If I don't, not everything will be done before I leave.
