...Went out with a few work friends last night, we had a good time and tried not to talk about work too much (very hard when it's the only thing you all have in common).

On of the conversations we had was about the best pubs in the Exeter area, this god me thinking...

Neil's Top 5 Favourite pubs in the Exeter area

5. Great Western Hotel (St. Davids) - about 15 real ales, old men leaning on the bar in a drunken manner, easy to get to for visitors.

4. Bridge Inn (Topsham) - Oldest pub in Devon, unique atmosphere, good local ales (DT would argue this should be number one!)

3. Old Fire House (City) - Friendly atmosphere, very cheap, easy to get to location.

2. The Globe (Topsham) - Folky atmosphere, friendly, LIve music.

1. The City Gate (Iron Bridge) - It's just become a natural meeting place really, Great garden in summer, nice beers.

I am always changing my mind about these though, the Old Fire House could easily move up the ranks, just need to go there a few more times!
