...I often accuse people of being geeky, you know those people who love Star trek/German Rock/Computer programming/Lord of the Rings... but it is on days like this that the inner geek comes out in me...

Due to industrial action at the BBC, the schedule may change and some parts of this site may not be updated. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Ooh I love it, i have no opinion on whether people are right or wrong to be striking over the job cuts, only individual staff at the BBC can make a decision for themselves, but I do enjoy watching those that do go to work try and cope.

The first I noticed was poor Janice Long on Radio 2 struggling to stay in control of her Birmingham studio overnight. sounded it like it was just her up there and one bloke in london doing the news and holding it together. Songs stopping, dead air, and the emergency tape kicking in. She was totally honest about what was happening though, and you could not help but feel on her side.

Woke up and switched on FiveLive (as normal) to catch the news at 6am, which had been replaced by a prerecord of something. 6Music seemed to be running as normal with Chris Hawkins announcing that Paul Anderson was sitting in for Phill Jupitus, and when that time came he suprisingly started with a Billy Bragg track! Paul sounded underprepared and seemed to be avoiding the issue of why he was there and Phill wasn't, to the point of reading out emails from people speculating where he was... we know where he was - on the picket line!!!

I am now home from work and scouring the media websites for what happened on TV and Radio today... as I said I am a media geek!

I will update you on my happenings this weekend, just as soon as I have found out how thw Asian Network coped today...
