... Went to see Hard-Fi at the Exeter Lemongrove last night, and I have to say that they didn't live up to the hype or my expectations. The sound was bass heavy and the vocals lost, the band we mostly unanimated and relied on "This is F***ing awsome Exeter" type banter beteewn songs. They were laddy and devoid of personality, although this is what the (mostly male, lager drinking) crowd seemed to like. This band is no Oasis in the making, their live act is energetic, but lacks thought, once I was home all I could remember is that they played the hits and a few other songs... but there was nothing to remember the night by really.
Having said that there were still some enjoyable points, and it was better than a night in doing nothing! (and the curry beforehand was excellent!!)
