...after the film I went up to see Street Spirit who are a band my friend fronts who play covers of indie rock songs. This gig was at The Bowling Green in Exeter, and is in fact now my local being less than a minutes walk away - I had no excuse to not be there! The pub is really nice, Martyn and the band were on top form and the Otter Ale went down very nicely!

Saturday night was spent being beaten by Dennis, Joe and his friend at Snooker. I lost 6 times and really should shop humiliating myself and stick to poker!

Sunday Morning I saw a tiny bit of the Great West Run (Well done Darren on your 1hr55mins) and then saw a preview of Brick at the Picturehouse. I can't say I was overly impressed. There were good aspects of the film - I liked the stylised aspects of the way it was filmed, and the contrasts that the film brings out having school aged children act in a grown up and serious way, with just a few aspects of the teenage world breaking through. On the whole though the film is confusing and hard to follow. The slang made things being said hard to understand, and the delivery was often mumbled or unclear.

Then had a bite to eat at Georges Meeting House and off to a party, where I managed to say the wrong thing to someone (without knowing!) and it took a good hour or so to sort out... I won't go into it here!

Today has been lazy, just meeting Ivonne and eating and drinking coffee! Now I need to get into a work frame of mind, it's another flipping strike tomorrow so no doubt it will be a busy day.
