Paradise Now...

...I was a little disappointed by Paradise Now, perhaps I was building it up too much. I liked the fact it was filmed in the West Bank, obviously it would have been very difficult and I imagine dangerous to film. I just felt that as a film it didn't hold up. Not enough emotion invested in the characters, although the relationship between the two bombers was interesting, I felt the relationship between the main character and his mother could have been developed. Some of the dialogue was preachy, saying things that would have been better coming out of the storyline instead of slowing the pace for a long sermon. It was an interesting film, but left me feeling emotionally neutral towards the characters and didn't add anything to my knowledge and opinion of the situation.
