...Still not feeling that great, but luckily I was not due to work today anyway, and should be able to recover today and to go in tomorrow. Realised I may have to skip poker tonight though :( Perhaps I will make a miraculous recovery?
I watched almost all my unwatched films yesterday, Lord of War (thumbs up), Thumbsucker (a wrinkly thumb sideways) and Le Beau Mariage (Thumbs up).
The last one was particularly interesting, it was given away free a few weeks ago in The Independent and is from French director Eric Rohmer. It is about a girl who decides she is going to get married, although she is not with anyone at that point. It is a story of making your mind up and sticking to it, trying to create a reality around you that fits what you want, being headstrong and inflexible... and a lot more asides.
What struck me though is this manic early 80's electronic music that it starts and ends with, and quite extraordinarily turns up in a party in the middle of the film. It is both out of place and wonderful! I have checked IMDB and Amazon and all the usual places to find out more, but to no avail.
Oh well, with only one film left to watch perhaps I will read my book, which has been dragging up deep childhood memories... more of that later perhaps...
