I just shared this story on a bulletin board elsewhere...

...but after going to all the effort of typing it up I felt I should share it here as well. It is in the context of a conversation about buying loo roll...

...Reminds me of something that happened when I was a youthworker.

I once visited a church leaders house in a town that I will just call "Exmouth", as that was its name.

When I went to the little boys/girls room to relieve myself I was suprised to see the amount of loo rolls stashed in the corner (Perhaps 12-15), as I sat down I noticed a slim cupboard to my left, my curiousity overtook me and I had to see what was in it, on each of the 3 narrow shelves inside were 2 loo rolls, I could hardly stifle my laughter (I cunninging disguised it as the sort of noises you may make on the toilet...).

Then I saw another cupboard, just above the slim one, although this one was locked, but with a key attached to a bit of string near by. I simply could not resist and unlocked it to find 4 more toilet rolls stashed inside.

This could have been the end of the story, but no! The next week I was due to preach at one of the churches in the town, my topic was to be "The Second Coming of Christ", I was very short of ideas, but at least I had an illustration about how we should always be prepared....
