Well the shit didn't hit the fan as I thought it might, though there was a very long management meeting yesterday afternoon, the first since the employee's forum.

Today we had the launch of a new product. I foolishly offered to help with any children that might be accompanying their parents. The only experience I have is having lived with a family with 4 kids, baby sitting and church - but I still went ahead a voluteered.

We now have a new children's area - though we are limited with what they can do without supervision given that it is a showroom. It is good fun but it does need one parent/carer to keep an eye on them. So I volunteered to run it today as a one off whilst the launch took place.

This meant that parents were able to talk to salespeople; discuss finance and have space to make decisions without the distraction of children being bored and disruptive.

The funny thing is that the management were very impressed by my "people" skills - especially my "little people" skills. Most children enjoyed drawing and were only there for a short time, but a few others needed more interaction as the parents were involved elesewhere. So I read stories and poetry; talked to them; told jokes and at one stage sang "The wonderful thing about tiggers" with tigger ears on my head jumping and bouncing around the play area.

Having prayed that today would be successful, and a talk with someone from work who told me to seriously consider a change of career; I'm now wondering where and what I should be doing.
