It's been a bad weekend. I had a bit of a sore throat on Thursday but never got a cold so just put it down to pollen.
Then yesterday I had a bad asthma attack in the morning which left me shaken. I seemed to be getting better in the afternoon but had another one late at night.
Felt OK first thing this morning - but (yes you've guessed) another one :(
So with my peak flow decreasing I headed off to the NHS walk in clinic at my local hospital and by the time I got there having used public transport and feet I was so bad they whisked me immediately and stuck me on a nebuliser. I'm now on oral steroids, a third inhaler told to use my spacer and being referred to the asthma clinic.
It appears I need help in using the inhalers I have (especially the blister pack) and they want to monitor me to help me control it. I've been told to go back there immediately if I have another one tonight/tomorrow morning. here's praying I don't but I've been coughing bady this evening and I'm scared.
It's frightened me - it's worst attack I've had in a long, long time.
My thanks go to the staff at Charing Cross hospital who saw me promptly, and helped me through the treatments this morning.
