Hello 2006

It's been a quiet start and I've spent most of the first day asleep. Then again it was 2.30am before I went to bed - mainly because I was chatting to landlady & friends who'd battled into London to see the fireworks. I think I had the best view as it was on TV and I was in the warm, dry comfort of the front room.

The other good thing about them going into town was the fact that I was able to talk to "the man of the moment" in private and wish him "Happy New Year". I do wish my landlady would be more generous and lift her embargo on him visiting me at home, but she's adamant he has to meet with a mutual friend or friends and get their approval before she will consider him coming into the house. I must admit the man has been very patient and understanding about it all - but it is frustrating.

Anyway 2006 - what does it bring?

For a start a change of role at work from purchase ledger to credit control. Not sure when as it's all under discussion and the supervisor from hell has not been told yet. It'll cause a minor eruption but I deserve a move after all the hassle I get from him.

I doubt whether there will be a payrise (again) - not even cost of living - but I will be on the look out to move somewhere nearer church, pub and friends.

Finally, my hope is that health will improve - especially that the asthma will stay under control.

So here's to 2006 and all the promises that a new year brings.

May you all have joy, many blessings, good health and peace in 2006.
