The trials of being a lodger

OK so I may have my faults like only doing the cleaning when it's necessary and leaving my washing up to dry but when it comes to my landlady rules and regulations spring up from nowhere - along with comments about what I eat, my weight and my social life.

Rules and regulations include:

Taking shoes off when entering the house

Only 1 pair of shoes to be left downstairs

Don't leave your coat on the coat pegs as they are for my coats and for my guests

Turn the heating down to low at night as I don't like it hot in night

Don't leave your post in the hall

Your only have 1 shelf in a small cupboard for your food

Similarly only 2 shelves in the fridge and I have the right to move your things around to ensure this is the case when you've been shopping

Put your own plates away when you've washed up even if only a bowl & a spoon becuase I will ignore them when putting my things away

You may well do my washing up if you're doing yours but I'm definitely not going to reciprocate

If you leave your laundry drying I have the right to dump it in a heap in your room or just outside even though you may fold mine up neatly

I can blame you for anything that may not work or goes missing because you are the lodger

I have the right to criticise your eating habits and make comments about what you eat because I believe that you have a food intolerance and are overweight

No sex and boyfriends may visit only on my approval

The fact is that she needs my rent money and wonders why people don't want to rent one of the other rooms. The last "other lodger" lasted just under a years and that was living here only at weekends (unless visiting friends).
