Back to school

I had a visit from a friend I've known since 1972 this afternoon.

It turns out that she's now teaching at the school we used to go to and where we first met. I nearly choked when she told me. She says it's changed as all the "huts" have gone to be replaced by new buildings and there's been a change is the use of classrooms but basically there is a lot that I'd remember. She promised me a tour when I next go down...

She done that for a mutual friend a few weeks ago and they'd had quite a reminisce with lots of giggling as they went round the place, but they had had difficulty remembering how the rooms were numbers (or rather lettered). Out came paper and pencils as we tried to recreate the school layout and number the classrooms. The strange thing was that the letters were rarely sequential - F G E H I K M N on the top floor, old building. Strange that I never noticed that at the time.

She is adamant there was a classroom next to the library, I'm certain that what she called the staff room was a class room in the new block. No doubt another "inmate" will sort it all out for us...
