That about sums it up really.
The good news is that the tumour was benign.
The bad news is that I've an infection so I'm now on antibiotics. I also had the swelling drained and the fluid has been sent for tests (quote registrar: "we may as well have a couple more expensive tests done"). Unfortunately the swelling has come up again - as I thought it might. Still, back to the hospital on Friday for test results and probably more draining or details of further treatment.
The worrying news is the most common cause of the tumour itself is something rather nasty. I'm having to think about having blood tests to see whether it's feasable that may be the cause. Why isn't life simple and straightforward for me?
I was rather hoping to be able to put everything behind me after the op and start things afresh. Maybe I still will be able to do that.
Oh well, that's life. Just having to trust God more than I ever have before and given my recent track record that is really hard.
