Some people are more wonderful than words could say

After one hell of an awful day at w*rk yesterday I gathered myself together and headed off to Central London en route to a Ship meet/open house in Croydon.

I wouldn't have done it on my own, but those stalwart travellers of the Ship, Soggy A & Tigglet, picked me up from Bishopsgate and drove me back to Ealing afterwards which is not en-route from Croydon to Herts.

It was an odd feeling being back in that area since my marriage broke down. I would not have been able to do it without being in the company of friends, who until later on that night when I blurted out one of my awful secrets, had little idea as to how hard it was.

That being said I had a wonderful evening/night in the company of interesting people. A guy called Stef got into fine vocal form with some wonderful folksongs. The best was his self penned parody about Martin Carthy sung to "The Hard Times of Old England" which he had once performed in front of the great man himself (not worthy).

I can only apologise to those who suffered my singing along with a couple of choruses - next time I'll bring ear plugs although not for the person who said "no you can't sing" when I joked about my bad vocals. She can suffer.

Thanks to Tigglet for recognising I was worn out way before I'd admit it - I keep trying to deny I'm not well and act as if everything's fine. It must be my stubborn streak - my mother always did say I was a defiant child.

Anyway today I have been resting - I'm physically, mentally and emotionally exhausted after this week. Most of today has been spent in bed, which has given me comfort as well as being the warmest place to be.

I'm not going out tonight - it's too cold outside, and I'm still feeling weak - it's going to be a cuddle up and watch TV/listen to music/ MSN and cafe type evening.
