I braved the Social Security office today armed with all the paperwork and other bits and pieces they asked for. Of course they did not want half of what was on their checklist. I now expect a letter from those actually processing the claim requesting these things...watch this space.
Anyway I was told I should here something by 14 days. Now that something could be anything from a letter informing me benefit money is being paid (being over optimisyic there methinks), to a request for further information to them asking for what they did not take today.
It's also 14 days with nothing being paid into my bank account - which is steadily getting more and more in the red.
My landlady has said I can cancel my rent payment (for the time being). She then went on about housing benefit - including a reminder I hadn't heard anything from my claim last year (don't chase don't get). I guess that's my next battle - but they'll probably want the paperwork that I have now handed in so grrrr.
I did explain to landlady that as rent included food, heat, light, water etc then the company that runs housing benefit claims in this part of London will want to deduct more that what she has said goes towards it. The way around this is of course lying and saying I pay extra for that. But they are so fundamentalist and this will go against what they teach they're children...not sure whether they'd go through with it.
Anyway it's been very windy here - and a bit damp. Snow and colder weather has been forecast so I bought more fruit; over the counter medicine; biscuits and a few other bits. I will now stay in whilst the weather worsens.
Oh also bought some more hair colour to do roots; hide the ever increasing grey and tone done the brassiness of the last colour attack.
I must tidy up this room...sometime (yawn)
