I managed to crawl out of bed and have a shower leaving enough time to go downstairs and give the children their Easter eggs (small packets of Cadbury's mini eggs in a gift bag) and their parents bars of Grren & Black's chocolate.
The Easter service was wonderful - although the children were hyper (the result of too much chocolate I think).
People appreciated the flowers I had done with one of our older ladies, who had also polished the brass. Sad to see her looking so weary though, it's as if life is slowly creeping from her. She's so tired.
I had a lovely surprise. My best friend turned up out of the blue from Winchester. She wanted to celebrate Easter with friends as she has left her church there. She was pleased to see all her Ealing friends there - and was also able to stay for the bring and share lunch.
The family have now left for Dorset so I've the freedom of the house for a few days. I'm left with the fish to feed, but thank goodness they tookthe tadpoles. I must make the most of being able to "spread myself around" as it's generally the only time I can get really creative with room to allow things to dry.
I also need to do some hand washing - so I hope I get a dry windy day.
