Wedding worries

A friend's daughter is getting married this afternoon.

I foolishly said I'd do the church flowers for her.

I forgot just how important they are in setting the mood and ambience in the church, and that they'll be in the pictures, especially when signing the register.

I've arranged the vases but I can't set them out and dress the stands because the dance group are using the church this morning and the little brats would only fiddle with them or knock them over.

I've now been asked to set out tealights on the stage and steps - "because you have the creative eye to see how to place things" Ha ha.

Phoned my friend this morning and she's already exhausted, what with both famillies in and out of her house. The bridegroom's family have arrived safely from Finland, and the bride's relatives are down from Scotland. Not sure whether any of their friends have come over from Italy (where they now live). Truly European.

So it's off to church at lunchtime to get things done (and if the dancegroup leave the church in a mess there will be hell to pay).

I can only do my best - I just hope it's good enough
