There's nothing worse than having things planned for a summers afternoon and evening and finding that the weather has turned and it's more like autumn.
Yesterday I went to one of the main Saturday's in the Ealing festival. It was dull, and clouds were grey but at least it was dry.
It was quite good, a blues band in the park with a food festival (mainly stall where you could buy a variety of food to keep uour energy levels up, and drink to keep you well watered).
There was also a "French" market where all the stalls were supposedly French. Some obviously were, but I had my doubts on others. Cheese, bread, sausages and dried fuit and nits were the most popular. There was also street entertainment which passed the time away nicely.
Heading back the first raindrops fell, and by the time I was having to walk from the supermarket to the front door it was pouring down. So much for the evening entertainments that were going on.
A friend had invited us for a picnic in another park that evening - it ended up a picnic in his living room, but we weren't too worried. It was rather grand - lots of cheese, pate, salads and champagne.
Too bad we couldn't have been outside, but then the advantage of being indoors was no wasps. In fact next time I'll suggest that we plan a picnic in his house for that very reason.
By the way, can someone tell me why God created wasps?
