Being worked out

I had my induction at the gym today. You know the sort of thing - how to use the equipment properly; checks on injuries and ailments; and what you want to achieve.

So I'm sort of sorted - apart from 3 item of weight equipment we didn't have time to go through after I'd finished the long long list of ailments and injuries; and we'd had a chat about why I had joined, what I wanted to achieve and what would motivate me to continue.

Boy does he want me to work though - and some of the equipment seems to have come directly from a torture chamber. Apparently I need to:

Strengthen muscles that are weak.

Expand my lungs and breath deeper (good to prevent asthma).

Repair and strengthen areas that have been injured in the past so they cause no further problems.

Improve and strengthen my posture.

and finally...

Increase stamina.

So what do I want to achieve from all this?

1. Lose my fat tummy (it will never ever ever be flat but I'd like to be able to get it a little less visible)

2. Be able to run for the bus without being out of breath and having to use my inhaler(s)

3. Drop a couple of dress sizes so I can wear nice clothes

Is this achievable I ask myself?

Apparently pigs can fly...

if in the hold of an aeroplane that is.
