From today a band of foolhardy shipmates begin their journey the length and breadth of the UK mainland in search of fun, frolics and frills (sorry, thrills) travelling to meet other Shipmates and undertake a variety of devious challenges for which they score points and then steal them from each other when backs are turned.
I would like to think that being a group of church goers they'd have some morality and would not cheat. Wisdom and knowledge tell me otherwise.
The day went off to a strange but appropriate start when the person I was staying with last night could not open her from door because the metal trim she'd attached to stop mice getting in had come off.
No screwdriver to hand so in true "Penelope Pitstop" style she produced a metal nail file which actually did the trick. I did the repair work whilst she loaded the car. On the UK tour she is being known as "Penelope Pitstop" - hence the nail file. The car is not pink (yet).
I was given a lift back to Ealing as she was picking another tourer up from there. So I waved them goodbye and good luck and hoped they could follow the directions I had given them.
