Firstly, mother is in hospital for an operation to remove cancerous cells from...well it's a gynaecological thing I won't go into details on but it's not nice.
The operation took place this morning and she's now recovering and in a comfortable condition. I'll phone this evening for more news but I sort of know what to expect as she had the same operation 2 years ago.
I guess I'll have to go down and see her at some point, though I may wait until she's at home and visit her the bank holiday weekend (which means losing any chance of going to Greenbelt.)
I know she's my mother but just because I'm not w*rking at present doesn't mean I'm going to drop what I'm doing and move down to her house to care for her. Let's face facts, she never visited or called me when I was in hospital and when I did visit her she was more concerned about how fat I was rather than how I was feeling post operation. Umph.
Anyway, some good news is that I've an interview at 9.00am tomorrow morning for a local company. It's a part time role (which suits my current lifestyle) for 2-3 months but it is doing payroll, which I really want to get out of. Then again it's mainly preparing stuff such as adding leavers and starters as the calculations and payroll itself is outsourced.
Because it's part time the money won't be enough to pay rent on my own place, but it will be more than the combination of housing bebefit and jobseekers allowance.
We'll wait and see what happens...
