Yesterday and all that part 2

I spent the afternoon at the fitness centre doing a couple of chi ball classes.

After going there for 4 weeks and doing aqua aerobics, gym sessions and other classes you would have thought my body would be starting to improve - especially where I've had injuries, but yesterday my body would not respond at all.

I guess I hadn't realised just how much damage had been done - especially 5 years ago when I fell backward on a bus when the driver braked suddenly and I damaged my shoulders. Maybe the fact that I'm exercising is highlighting the injured points as the other "good" parts are improving.

Needless to say I felt very self conscious when the instructor kept coming up to me trying to get me into the right position. Luckily she is very encouraging and knows alternatives that ease any discomfort, but it made me want to give up doing the class because I physically can't manouvre the ball around without my shoulder and back muscles shouting at me.

I know it will get easier in time - but it's just so frustrating as I'd like to see results now.

By the way - chi ball is a mixture of yoga, pilates and tai chi using a ball which is impregnated with lavender oil.
