Whirlwind day

Being up late on a school night is definitely not good for me.. I've been a bit zombie like for the last day or so as a result.

Anyway, where was I?

Oh yes... resuming normal service.

I've had an incredibly productive day, considering I presided over the death of the work laptop, signed it's death warrant, and am, along with my colleagues, awaiting the replacement. I'm more stunned it's getting replaced than the previous one died, it's been slowing down, and getting more and more unusable by the day. Given the financial situation of the sector in which I work, we'd been convinced the death of our machine might mean we'd be forced to sharing the communal ones more. I feel a departmental party may be held tomorrow!!

I also got away reasonably early, and have indulged in a whirlwind couple of hours of housework, cleaning all the important areas of the house likely to be seen by visiting assorted female relatives, of varying ages, should they decide invading my space is on the agenda for the day out we're having in a couple of days time in the city in which I reside, but they don't. (They occasionally have a collective urge to shop. Normally I'd never even know about this, but on this occasion, I am being included - possibly because I do live here!)

Rain stopped play on possible gardening moments!!

On the home computer, I have written 127 e-mails, (OK, done a lot of copy, cut and pasting, with little additions to make people think I've written to them and them alone...)and am about to print out 52 letters. This, of course, may cause seasonal confusion to many recipients - we're not accustomed to much communication outside that Card Sending Season which I will decline to name at this stage of the year.

As soon as I've confirmed two people who I've e-mailed this news to first, (as was their right, they've put up with a lot from me this past year or more) have read the e-mails, I will be sending out this mass mailing!

After several weeks of no mental or emotional energy whatsoever, it is nice to have a fair amount of it back again!!
