What shall I do today?

What a lovely day! We had a very hard frost in Brum overnight, and the whole place is white and sparkly in the morning sunshine. I suspect that were I to venture outside the door of my lovely warm house, it would be a little chilly. But given that I didn't manage to get out of the house at all yesterday I should really make an effort today.

Tonight is Japanese Class. Next week is half term, and last week I skipped it in favour of going to a comedy gig at the Glee Club (which incidentally was a fab evening - the comedian in question is Mark Watson). I haven't looked at any Japanese stuff since the previous class, and have a wad of notes that arrived in the post yesterday from last weeks missed lesson. Hum. So probably ought to knuckle down and get on with some of that for a bit. I can always do a chunk, then do something else and maybe come back to a bit more later on? Or is that a bit overly ambitious?

Wednesday is one of the days I try to make it to the swimming pool. They have school classes in during the day, but they're out by 3pm and on Wednesdays the pool closes at 4pm. So 3-4pm is one of the quietest time to go because you don't get kids turning up after school because of the pool closing so early.

I also have been really meaning to do some sewing. I love sewing when I get into it (making clothes, that is), and my Mum is rather an expert in that area (among many many other things, she made my wedding dress, bridesmaid's dresses, her own dress/jacket for the occasion). She bought be a fantastic new sewing machine last March, which is really great, and while I wasn't working last spring I made a couple of things (may post pic's at some point). I got to cutting out the fabric for a tunic top, but once I started work at the uni I never found time to tidy up the spare room (where I set up the machine) and getting on with actually making it. So guess what? It's still sitting there, all cut out and ready but not sewn together. Once I actually set up the machine and get on with it I'll really love it - and it's so satisfying having something to show for it at the end (that you can wear!!). It's just the getting started that's hard.

I also have a number of committee-related e-mails and papers that need reading/digesting and possibly responding to. I am somewhat less motivated for that...

So I guess the plan of action is:
study some Japanese
?go for a short walk
sort out some lunch
get started on some sewing
go swimming
do a bit more Japanese
sort out some dinner
go to Japanese

May update later as to how I am getting on.

Oooh - and Mr Moog is coming home for the night (hooray!). It's a shame that I'll be out for most of the evening...

Aargh - is it really that time already?? I'd better get on with it or I'll never get anything done (computers are so addictive....)
