D'oh!

I am in the middle of trying a gluten free bread in my breadmaker (from this fab book: Gluten Free Bread & Cakes from your Breadmaker by Carolyn Humpries). The recipe says to keep an eye on this one because it doesn't require the full cooking time. Anyway, it's just about to go on to the cooking part of the cycle and I took a peek at it to see how it was doing and it looks very odd. Not good at all. Doesn't seem to have spread to fill the pan or anything. And come to think of it, I can't seem to remember putting in any sugar....
