This morning I went to the SLE clinic. It was busy but I had a good discussion with the Dr. and we've agreed to reduce my meds a little bit very gradually over a month. Last time was October and I feel generally that I have coped well so fingers crossed that this will be another small but successful step towards wellness without drugs.
The other thing is that I need to do a bit more excercise. I often think that I should really walk the boys to playgroup on Monday/Tuesday, but it's easier to take the car (especially if it's raining) and it's about a mile each way so (especially given the Lupus) I probably need to build up to it a bit. I have to say that pushing the little one in the pushchair with Munchkin on the buggyboard is hard work!! I suppose I can start by taking them on foot and doing the pickup run in the car - one day, then two. Then phase in the pickup run. Wednesday's group is too far, really. Hubby proved that today because my hospital visit went on rather longer than expected so I was not able to pick them up having dropped them off in the car on my way. It took them a good hour to walk home. Thursday is my mad Tumble Tots day and that's way too far to walk to (nearly two and a half miles!) given the timings and my current state of mind. Friday is swimming day and actually I suppose we could walk to that. Humm. Maybe I could be a bit more active and therefore fitter with a bit of thought, planning and effort.
Other things that would contribute to my better health are less alcohol (just love my G&T, though!), less mayo, butter, cheese and creamy sauces, less sweet treats (homemade biccies, etc.); more vegetables and salad (definitely going to happen as the allotment is so much more under control than last year!), more fruit (need effort in this area). Also I need to remember to drink more water.
So, all in all a successful trip, not just for having a plan to reduce meds but also making me think about my lifestyle a bit. I am feeling very optimistic!
