Yesterday Hubby, Munchkin and I went into Brum and wandered around the German Market and did some Christmas Shopping. I know it's getting a bit late and we didn't manage to do it all - still a couple of nephews and nieces to sort out - but we had a lovely time. It was very cold, but hubby carried Munchkin in the sling so they kept each other warm. I kept warm with a couple of cups of mulled cider! :o) We didn't find anything much edible at the market that wasn't either served in a roll or battered. However I did manage some mushrooms and fried potatoes which were incredibly yummy and didn't do my digestive system any damage (hooray!). It was nice to get out to wander and enjoy without any time pressures and town wasn't even all that busy considering it is the week before Christmas! Probably it being Monday had a lot to do with it....
Munchkin has the third set of immunisations this afternoon so I'm preparing myself for a grouchy next day or so. This is the last in the first set. The next lot are at 12 months (I think) so that's a relief. On the subject of health issues, the dentist did manage to fix my tooth without too many problems. She replaced the filling for me and said that the bits underneath were still fine and healthy so that's good. I had to go back again yesterday morning though to have another filling repaired (which was slightly chipped). Good thing I don't have a problem with dentists!! What with having had a visit to the hygienist the other week the receptionist recognised me and called me by name which I found quite worrying!
On Saturday night hubby and I went to Symphony Hall while my brother and his wife babysat for Munchkin. The concert was Tchaikovsky: The Nutcracker Suite, Grieg: Piano Concerto, Elgar: Enigma Variations with Sakari Oramo conducting and Leif Ove Andsnes on the piano. It was just a fabulous concert! The music was just so perfect and Andsnes played the piano with such passion. What a wonderful evening! Of course, we paid for messing up Munchkin's routine by not getting much of a night in terms of sleep afterwards, but it was well worth it!
