We had a lovely cabin at the largest van park in Port Macquarie ... they have everything from two bedroom river view spa cabins (us!) through to powered sites for grey nomads in their camper vans through to unpowered tent sites ... with a great pool (we didn't use it this time), kiosk, games room, and lots of well cleaned (daily) BBQ and amenities areas ... with a fabulous view along the breakwater and the river.

Our first cabin wasn't such a success - smelled like musty old fish, locks on bathroom doors didn't work (not usually a problem except my parents were coming up to stay for the last couple of dads - we're close, but not that close!), really dusty fly screens, big cockroach under fridge, heater didn't work, twin beds pushed together to make our bed (which is fine, except when one mattress is nearly two inches lower than the other!) etc etc .... each of which we could probably have lived with, but not all together!

Anyway, they were very good and moved us to another cabin next day- which had a better view anyway :) - not to mention no connecting door between us and the bathroom - yay! Anything which limits sound when sharing small spaces is a GOOD thing!

Spa bath was great too :)

Mr Tasmania booked us into a local Thai restaurant (on the recommendation of the Kickboxing Queen), we did a lot of exploring and shopping in the first couple of days, caught up with the Kickboxing Queen, The Preacher, and their three kids, and just generally hung around and did nothing - and it was BLISS!!!!!!
