I've been pondering the different relationships people have ... and mine has just been brought home to me ... not in a bad way I hasten to add, just in an interesting way.
Deeleea has just emailed me to see if I want to go see The Da Vinci Code tonight or tomorrow. I haven't seen it, and would love to, but am going to go and see it with Mr Tasmania in June when he's here for a fortnight ...
I have no problem with waiting :), it'll be the first time we've been to the movies together ... hence the pondering ...
- we're engaged and we've never been to the movies together ...
- we've spent 17 days together (that's including first date of approx 3 hours and 2nd date of approx 2.5 hours)
- he lives 1200km's away (luckily The Amazon can relate ... she was in a serious relationship with a Canadian - wins the distance comp hands down!)
I'm not complaining about any of the above, he is my soulmate and this is a completely blessed relationship - as a benefit of the distance, for example, we have a very open communication style, from having spent so much time on the phone/email ... you have to be very clear and honest otherwise things can get tricky very quickly on the phone, so we have no trouble communicating at all. Some couples don't get that sort of clarity for YEARS, if ever, so it's the silver lining in the distance.
I just think relationships are interesting.
Mind you ... if Deeleea wants to go and see X:Men 3 next week I'm up for it!
