of Italian restaurants, lovely friends, and licences

I went to Dolcissimo Italian Restaurant in Haberfield last night, to have dinner with a good mate. She's a lovely girl, lots of fun, and we had a great time. I particularly enjoyed the antipasto platter and we took takeaway Pistachio and Chocolate Chip Gelato back to her place for dessert. Her husband, whom the BroBoss calls Greenwich Mean Time (he's swiss), was there, teaching students (he's an amazing jazz guitarist) so I caught up with him over coffee and gelato too.

She made me a gorgeous present for my shower, a green glass bead necklace, with gorgeous clear beads, lovely 'beach' glass, and very pretty larger beads with beautiful designs enclosed in them, as well as two differently sized pairs of earrings to go with - very special!

I drove back home through the city and, whilst talking to Mr Tasmania, was musing on the fact that there are parts of Sydney which look dodgy which I'm quite comfortable driving through ie the drive down Wattle Street to turn right up to Darling Harbour ... it's dark, quiet, large buildings, could be quite uncomfortable but doesn't bother me in the slightest ... and then there's other parts which are seemingly safe which bother me immensely ie I'm quite uncomfortable walking through sections of Dee Why after dusk, and there's lots of people and houses and it should be safe ... it just feels odd ... weird ...

My job of the day is to go and get my licence renewed. Unfortunately I am going swimming after work and have my hair in a ponytail and have no makeup on ... gorgeous not! Ah well .... I will have a to get a new one when I get to Tassie so it doesn't really matter I guess ...
