Enjoying the P and Q this evening. Mr Miff is upstairs exercising. Its party time for not so little Miff and friends. (Counts grey hairs). Whilst Miss Miff phoned a while back to say that she's about to set out for the fleshpots of the other town. We've only had one lot of tiny trick or treaters so far. I did try to let a decent interval elapse before tucking into the leftover sweeties. Really enjoyed those milk bottles and am wondering whether to share the fried eggs with the other half or not.
Another rare treat: Getting the chance to listen to MY playlist for a change. My tastes - and technical ability - being shall we say...'eclectic,' (the children would say 'sad' no doubt), the selection ranges from Widor, Bach, some Iona and Northumbria community stuff, Rutter, Franck, Warlock, John Rutter, to Stuart Townend and his ilk, and even some tuneful singing from fellow wiblogger C'est Ma Vie.
And what am I reading? Apart from Your Cat and Dogs Today. :) :
Macrina Weiderkehr's - A Treeful of Angels
Joyce Rupp's - Dear Heart Come Home*
Keith Ward - What the Bible Really Teaches - A challenge for Fundamentalists
Thackeray's - Vanity Fair (40 pages down and ahem hundred to go)
The little black book (see a few entries back) has sadly disappeared again. I've checked my dressing-gown pockets.
*Food for thought from this one:
'When we are experiencing inner growth something in us yearns for instant finding instead of gradual unfolding. We want to find the way and we want it now. The Child in us stamps her feet, demanding that something happen. A part of us yells....."I want to know my true Self now instead of stumbling round wondering if I am headed in the right direction. Let me know where I need to go on with my life. let me get on with what I am supposed to do so I can do it. I want this unfinishedness of mine to be done."
See what I meant about perimenopausal hissy fits!
