Cats

I'd intended to blog about Ash Wednesday only I've not much time, and got diverted by folks' cat pics. We have a huge, cat-shaped hole in our household at the moment; the late Miffcat remains in his casket on top of the piano. Our excuse just now is that the ground is too hard and cold for digging. The rate we're going he'll probably remain up there until such times as we find a Miffcat Mk II. As you can guess nothing much is doing in that department so far. No joy from the cat's protection placey. It's not that they've no cats available; there are dozens of every shape, size and hue, including one little chap with only one eye and one sleek, ebony lady who in her photo lies languidly, paw on chin glaring out at the world as if to say: " Oh REALLY... This is so, so, tiresome daahlings!" No, it's our exacting requirements that are the problem: basically, we need a feline that's both indoor and dogproof. And even in our search round some of the pedigree, breed rescue depts this is causing difficulties -though there, at least, we've seen a bit more action. So far we've been notified of two Maine Coons, but unfortunately, one is epileptic and wanting to escape life as a lone cat with 5 dogs, whilst the other again isn't dogproof. Oh and the latest - not used to dogs, and from the sound of it, none too keen on men, either! I don't think we'd wish life chez Miffy with teenage boys and Mr Miff and his guitar playing on the poor fellow.

Right, singing awaits. More later.
