I love my job

There, I bet that was a shock to you!

At this stage of term I really do love it, the kids are all happy, they're fresh, they all have their 'determind to behave' hat on, they all look smart, I am awake (more so than usual anyway), I have my 'determind not to be grouchy' hat on. We all get on marvellously, if only it could always be like this. Part of me wishes I could justify going out and buying lots of new stationery, it's also tempting to get some new shoes etc, but the fact remains - I don't need any of it, even if it is the start of a new academic year.

Today, even though my form were a bit chatty, that was ok - as long as they were quiet when I needed to tell them stuff. I am hoping to have a better relationship with my form this year, it is something I really miss about my current school. In my previous jobs I had an excellent relationship with my forms - I loved them, and most of the time they thought I was quite good too. They also understood me, "no, don't push it in the mornings, but in the afternoon she really isn't bad", I was proud to be their form tutor (both forms). It's strange because both the previous schools were not as 'good' as my current one, behaviour generally was a huge issue at my first school, but there was some loyalty between us. What is interesting though is that I feel some of that same 'loyalty' from one particular year group, who I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching, so it can happen in the school, but I just haven't got there yet.
