Fairtrade

I had a very successful evening promoting Fairtrade. I took orange juice and chocolate coins, both Fairtrade and both well received (we don't tend to do coffee/ tea at our PCC meetings due to someone having to arrive early and make it). I was very encouraged by the positive responses, I reassured people who had tried Fairtrade coffee once and didn't like it, I encouraged them to go back and try different ones, and ultimately we voted to become a Fairtrade Church. I am looking forward to promoting it when I can. Already I have plans for a Fairtrade item to be reviewed in the Church Magazine each month, detailing local availability.

The Fairtrade Website is really useful too. Did you know that Green and Black's Maya Gold organic chocolate was the first item to receive the Fairtrade Mark in March 1994. Cafedirect and Clipper tea followed during the year.
