I'm glad we got to see this meeting, as I thought that as Benedict has withdrawn from public life, the last thing he would want was a meeting that would obviously attract attention. I was glad to see it, to see Benedict hopefully feeling and certainly happier how things are now. One of my friends commented that a little after the resignation, there was a lightning bolt photographed bouncing off the top of the cupola of the Bascilica di San Pietro. He was raised a Catholic and he thought that should have been a sign to Benedict to say "Don't resign". He thought it was God telling him not to do it. It's an interpretation, but I think this was something Benedict had thought about for so long. I think he had made his decision, and when he left the Vatican for the last time, everyone was in tears (Including Georg Ganswein), except Benedict himself. That said everything.
