Something happy happened on Sunday last, at least! My friend was confirmed into the Church of England. This means that she was blessed by a Bishop, and is now able to receive the bread and wine as part of our Holy Communion service. She is currently doing the ALM or Authorised Lay Ministry course. This will allow her to lead services. The confirmation service was beautiful, and was very emotional for us. It was a cold but sunny day, and the sun was streaming through the church windows. The stained glass above the altar was stunning. It was a wonderful day, and as the person who my friend asked to present her to the Bishop, who stood with her hand on her shoulder as he blessed her, I thought it was wonderful.
