Some things have happened today, that have inspired these poems. Hot off the press, as you might say!

It makes me smile
And cry at the same time

Now the bird gets to the cream
At the top of the bottle
Realisation, of course
Is that the cream is sour

We see true colours
Always gaudier and more hideous
Than you were ever prepared for

People who I thought liked me
Although I must say
I sometimes got a feeling
We would disagree

I understood
She feels I am scary

Maybe she can go
and escort the learner for me…
And then let the mouse go
When it squeals a bit too much…

It feels strange
I am the person
Who complains and moans
About them behaving in a certain way

Today
We smile together
As the camera records a moment in time
Memories for them

It might seem strange
And I’m sure
That it was all done, just to take the mick
But the fact that they asked
And appeared to want to remember me
And what effect I might (or not) have had on their lives
That will stay with me for the rest of my life
It somehow makes this all worthwhile…
Having an effect on someone’s life
Is what I have always strived for…

I do wish our 6th formers well. Year 12 will be back after the exams to begin year 13 work. the year 13s will take their final exams, and will then spend the summer waiting for the results...something which I do remember doing with GCSEs...
