I thought I'd post a few more poems, just for the hell of it, really! There is a gentle touch Not brisk or fierce But tender That floats around my face It whisks through the leaves In the trees above me And makes them wave Happily Gentleness causes the body To shiver As if the one I loved Had kissed my shoulders…. __________________________ Unnecessary Feelings of Disappointment So close Just a table separating me From my dreams and fantasies The head is down Concentration of writing Those lovely eyes hidden from view If I had reached out to touch him Or managed to find it in me to say a word He would speak to others But not to me There would have been a pane of impenetrable, forceful Silence Through which neither hand nor voice could ever pass I adore this man I would spend the rest of my life With him How anyone can break down the wall To be allowed to reveal their feelings? He does not hear He does not see He is brave, doing what is truly uncomfortable for him I should be so pleased that I met him and was so close to him But I wish that he had seen that I was there He says he would like a girlfriend How, if he will not let them in, Speak to them, acknowledge they are there? I appreciate my ugliness I live with its reality every day of my life I tried so hard to look my “best”… But the blindness of his bowed head… He saw absolutely nothing. _____________________________ The Mitchell Effect I am a flighty creature I feel and sense attraction And in the blink of an eye I am obsessed Is it a fad? Does the absence of any romance In my life or his (supposedly) Make my mind more active? He is lovely Dark eyes, like chocolate Thick hair (dreaming of my fingers Disappearing) But I have only just clicked “Yes, this man is handsome” He is both shy and confident Reserved and chatty He shows off but finds parties awkward Opposites found in one personality He is definitely one I would love to hug And would want to be aware of every squeeze His smell, his smile….everything Be the shirt blue, turquoise or his favourite, cranberry He looks lovely I have told him so But that in itself marks me As a fool. There! I'm done!
